Dubliner Djamel White has been longlisted for the Booker Prize 2026 for his debut novel All Them Dogs (John Murray). Set in the "criminal badlands" of west Dublin, the book tackles gangland life while exploring the humanity beneath its violence. The Booker judges called the novel "a bracingly unsentimental portrait of West Dublin gangland" and praised White's writing as "at once inventive and classically grounded". A UCD Creative Writing graduate, White is one of only three debut novelists on this year's longlist and the only Irish author. He has previously received a Literature Bursary Award and an Agility Award from the Arts Council of Ireland. Article by Fiona Audley.
