Portnoo Market Garden is a thriving, small-scale haven that produces exceptional quality fruits and vegetables using natural, sustainable and chemical-free methods. Alongside his personal story, Barrie offers an accessible guide to growing your own food the regenerative way, no matter the size of your space. Barrie's message is clear: healthy soil is essential to create healthy people, and reconnecting with where our food comes from is one of the most important steps we can take for our health, the planet and our communities. His journey from novice gardener to one of Ireland’s most recognised regenerative growers has inspired thousands of people to join the movement to fix our broken food system and learn how they too can take back control of the food they eat. Barrie Quinn is the founder of Portnoo Market Garden. After discovering his passion for growing food while working in Australia, Barrie returned home with his wife Yuka to start the garden – now known for its seasonal produce and strong community roots. Barrie is a passionate voice for regenerative and organic agriculture, sustainability, local food systems and rural resilience, and regularly speaks with food lovers, business leaders and policymakers.
