About the Book
The Stewart family has farmed their land in Co. Longford since 1938 when Farmer Phil’s grandfather, Harry Stewart, came to the farm from his homeplace in Enybegs at the age of 19 with two horses, a cart, a plough and a bag of oat seed. Today Farmer Phil farms over 500 acres of land, rearing around 250 dairy beef calves, agri-contracting (everything apart from hedgecutting!) running a farm shop and restoring vintage machinery.
Anyone familiar with Clarkson’s Farm will know Kaleb’s in-depth knowledge of each of Jeremy Clarkson’s fields; similarly here you will learn all about the history and the day-to-day life of the Stewart family farm through twelve of its fields. From fields with evocative names such as Julia’s Bottoms, the Haggard Field and the Castle to the more prosaically named Big Field and Field Along the Road, each brings its own unique purpose, history and stories.
Structured around each of the twelve fields, this book will make you fall in love with the Stewart Family farm and the extended household, and you will soon discover that with farm life there is never a dull moment!
Philip and Liv Stewart are the faces behind the ever-growing Farmer Phil brand. From their farm in Killashee, Co. Longford, they have amassed an impressive social media following, and their farm is now a popular destination, with customers travelling from near and far.
